Caution
•  The connectivity master unit (CMU) turns on the first main power after connecting the negative lead-acid battery terminal (READY off or on) or determines the presence or absence of the commander switch based on the communication status with the commander switch at the time of ACC, and records the result.
•  If the commander switch is installed with the negative lead-acid battery terminal connected when the CMU records that there is no commander switch, the commander switch does not operate.
•  When installing or removing the commander switch, be sure to disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. After completing the servicing, switch the main power to ACC or ON (READY off or on), and record whether the CMU has a commander switch.

1.  Remove the selector lever knob. (See SELECTOR LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [A71M].)

2.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

3.  Remove the shift panel. (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the screws.
