•  The emergency call system provides the customer a safe and useful service via communication between the devices the vehicle, the Mazda server, and the customer have.
•  The customer's car life is supported 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by the customer using the MyMazda.

Functions

Note
•  Available features differ depending on the country.

Auto call function

•  The emergency call unit makes a call automatically to a call center to report an emergency if an accident occurs with the vehicle.

Manual call function

•  The emergency call unit makes the call to a call center to report an emergency based on the operation of the emergency call unit switch by the user.

Audio speaker mute function

•  The emergency call unit stops audio output so that it does not interfere with an on-going voice call with the call center.

System conditions notification function

•  The emergency call system notifies occupants of the system operation status using the illumination/flashing pattern of the emergency call switch indicator and the notification sound output from the emergency call speaker.

Operation

Auto call operation

1.  If the vehicle is involved in a collision, the sophisticated airbag sensor (SAS) control module sends (1) a collision detection signal to the emergency call unit via CAN communication and hard wire.

2.  When the collision detection signal is received from the sophisticated airbag sensor (SAS) control module, the emergency call unit detects the following information based on a signal (2) from the related module.

•  Vehicle/accident information
―  Accident occurrence position information and accident occurrence time information received from TEL antenna
―  Vehicle model information and traveled distance (total traveled distance) received from body control module (BCM)
―  Powertrain information received from body control module (BCM)

3.  The emergency call unit sends (3) accident information/vehicle information to a call center via TEL antenna. In addition, the emergency call unit sends (4) an operation status notification signal to the emergency call speaker and the emergency call switch, and controls the activation of the notification sound and the illumination/flashing of the indicator.

4.  When the transmission of the accident information/vehicle information to the call center is completed or approx. 20 s have elapsed after starting to send the accident information/vehicle information, the emergency call unit starts the voice call (5) with the call center via the emergency call speaker/microphone.

Manual call operation

1.  When the emergency call switch OFF signal is received (1) after receiving the emergency call switch ON signal for approx. 1 s or more, the emergency call unit detects (2) an emergency call request from the user.

2.  When the emergency call request is detected, the emergency call unit detects the following information based on a signal (3) from the related module.

•  Vehicle information
―  Vehicle position information and emergency call request occurrence time information received from TEL antenna
―  Vehicle model information and traveled distance (total traveled distance) received from body control module (BCM)
―  Powertrain information received from body control module (BCM)

3.  The emergency call unit sends (4) accident information/vehicle information to a call center via TEL antenna. In addition, the emergency call unit sends (5) an operation status notification signal to the emergency call speaker and the emergency call switch, and controls activation of the notification sound and the illumination/flashing of the indicator.

4.  When the transmission of the vehicle information to the call center is completed or approx. 20 s have elapsed after starting to send the vehicle information, the emergency call unit starts the voice call (6) with the call center via the emergency call speaker/microphone.

Audio speaker mute operation

1.  When a collision detection signal is received or an emergency call request is detected, the emergency call unit sends (1) an audio output stop signal to the audio amplifier via CAN communication.
2.  When the audio output stop signal is received, the connectivity master unit stops (2) audio output.
3.  When the audio output is stopped, the audio amplifier sends an audio output stop completion signal (3) to the emergency call unit via CAN communication.
4.  When the audio output stop completion signal is received, the emergency call unit detects that stopping of the audio output is completed.
Note
•  If the audio output stop completion signal cannot be received, the emergency call unit cuts off the most circuit and forcefully stops audio output.
5.  The emergency call unit restores audio output after a voice call is finished.

―  Charge connector is correctly connected to vehicle
―  Not during high voltage battery charging
Remote Air Conditioning
―  Main power is switched OFF
―  All doors are closed
―  Liftgate is closed
―  Remaining high voltage battery charge amount is sufficient
Remote Door Lock
―  Main power is switched OFF
―  All doors are closed
―  Liftgate is closed
―  There is programmed key outside vehicle
―  All doors or liftgate have not been opened/closed over the period when the Smartphone performs locking.
―  Pacemaker setting is disabled

1.  When the MyMazda is operated, a signal according to the operation content is sent (1) to the emergency call unit.

2.  When the emergency call unit receives the signal, an operation request signal according to the operation content is sent (2) to each related part.

3.  Each related part operates.
