System malfunction location	Power transistor temperature sensor: Rationality error
Detection condition	•  The drive motor control module detects that any of conditions A, B, C, or D below is met. Condition A: ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in U phase and power transistor in V phase is less than specified value ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in V phase and power transistor in W phase is less than specified value ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in W phase and power transistor in U phase is specified value or more Condition B: ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in U phase and power transistor in V phase is less than specified value ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in V phase and power transistor in W phase is specified value or more ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in W phase and power transistor in U phase is less than specified Condition C: ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in U phase and power transistor in V phase is specified value or more ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in V phase and power transistor in W phase is less than specified ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in W phase and power transistor in U phase is less than specified Condition D: ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in U phase and power transistor in V phase is less than specified ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in V phase and power transistor in W phase is less than specified ―  Temperature difference between power transistor in W phase and power transistor in U phase is less than specified
Fail-safe	•  Stops the electric motor.

•  Before inspecting or removing/installing the high voltage parts, refer to [HIGH VOLTAGE SERVICE CAUTIONS] in the general information and [High Voltage Part Inspection and Removal/Installation Notes] of the high voltage system service cautions and implement the necessary measures and preparations. (See HIGH VOLTAGE SERVICE CAUTIONS.) (See HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	RECORD VEHICLE STATUS WHEN DTC WAS DETECTED TO UTILIZE WITH REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION •  Record the snapshot data. Note •  Recording can be facilitated using the screen capture function of the PC.	—	Go to the next step.
2	PERFORM DTC INSPECTION AND VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING PART IS DRIVE MOTOR CONTROL MODULE Warning •  While performing this step, always operate the vehicle in a safe and lawful manner. •  Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure. ―  Switch the main power OFF and wait for 10 min or more. ―  Drive the vehicle for 10 min or more. •  Perform the DTC inspection for the drive motor control module. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [L.H.D. (E)].) (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [R.H.D.].) If the CAN communication is normal, replace the drive motor control module and perform the repair completion verification 1. (See INVERTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
		No	Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 1	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED •  Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
		No	Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2	VERIFY THAT NO OTHER MALFUNCTION OCCURS Warning •  While performing this step, always operate the vehicle in a safe and lawful manner. •  Drive the vehicle for 10 min or more. •  Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Are any DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
