Description
|
• The charge indicator flashes in green even though the high voltage battery level indication in the instrument cluster indicates full charge.
|

Possible cause
|
Full charge cannot be recognized:
• The BECM cannot recognize the charge level.
Charge indicator display malfunction:
• Charge port-electrical supply unit malfunction
• Charge indicator malfunction
• CAN communication error
Communication error with quick charge system:
• The charging status cannot be sent to and from the quick charge system.

VERIFY PCM AND BECM DTCs
• Perform the DTC inspections for the following modules.

• Is a DTC displayed?

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [PCM (e-SKYACTIV)].)

No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CHARGE INDICATOR FOR MALFUNCTION
• Using the M-MDS, display the PCM simulation item [CHG_STAT_IND].
(See SIMULATION INSPECTION.)
• When the simulation item [CHG_STAT_IND] is on, verify the charge indicator illumination status.
• Does the charge indicator illumination switch in the order of white, green, amber, and red?

Yes
|
Explain to the customer that the malfunction is on the quick charge system side, and perform the repair completion verification.
|
No
|
Wear insulating gloves and repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

|
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
• Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
• Has the malfunction symptom been eliminated?

Yes
|
Complete the symptom troubleshooting. (Explain repair contents to customer.)

No
|
Refer to the CAN (controller area network) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
