Outline

•  When the charge cable is connected, the PCM locks the charge cable to the charge connector of the vehicle through the charge port-electrical supply unit. As a result, dropping of the charging cable during charging is prevented.

Operation

•  For details on the charging cable lock and unlock operation, refer to the charging system operation.(See CHARGING SYSTEM [(E)])
•  If the charge cable is stuck in a locked condition, unlock the charge cable manually.(See CHARGE CONNECTOR LOCK ACTUATOR [(E)].)

Charging start

•  The battery charger control module sends a start request signal to the PCM by the signal line when the charging cable is connected to the vehicle.
•  After starting, the PCM drives the main relay to start the BECM, obtains high voltage battery information from the BECM, and it sends a charging cable lock request signal to the charge port-electrical supply unit via CAN communication.
•  When the charge port-electrical supply unit receives the lock request signal, it drives the charging cable lock actuator to lock the charging cable.

Charging completed

•  When charging is completed, the PCM sends a charging cable unlock request signal to the charge port-electrical supply unit via CAN communication.
•  When the charge port-electrical supply unit receives the unlock request signal, it drives the charging cable lock actuator to unlock the charging cable.
