1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts.

(1)  Rear door garnish (See REAR DOOR GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Rear sash molding (See REAR SASH MOLDING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Rear door lower trim (See REAR DOOR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Rear door upper trim (See REAR DOOR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the rear door glass weatherstrip.

4.  Apply protective tape along the edges of the rear door panel and the rear door glass.

Note
•  Overlap and apply the protective tape to the corners to prevent damage to the rear door panel.

5.  Cut the end of the piano wire diagonally.

Warning
•  Using piano wire with bare hands can cause injury. Always wear gloves when using piano wire.

6.  Pass the piano wire from the outer side through the sealant in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.

7.  Wind each end of the piano wire around a bar.

Note
•  Since the piano wire can easily break if it is heated locally, cool it or change the area used as you cut the sealant.

8.  Secure one end of the piano wire and cut the rear door glass sealant and the pin as you pull the other end of the piano wire.

9.  Remove the rear door glass.

10.  Remove the pin from rear door panel.

11.  Remove the fasteners.
