Warning

• Handling a seat equipped with a side air bag improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings/cautions in the Workshop Manual before handling a front seat equipped with a side air bag. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) Vehicles with position memory system

• The seat heater control unit is installed inside the position memory control module. For removal/installation of the seat warmer control unit, refer to “POSITION MEMORY CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION”. (See POSITION MEMORY CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Vehicle without position memory system

1. Remove the head restraint from the front passenger’s seat.

2. Switch the ignition off.

3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

4. Remove the front passenger's seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5. Disconnect the connectors.

6. Remove the screws.

7. Remove the seat warmer control unit.

8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
