Location of use: Rear side radar sensor

Warning
•  If the rear side radar sensor is installed at an incorrect angle, the rear side radar sensor cannot detect obstructions correctly and the system may not operate normally. When installing the rear side radar sensor, make sure that the installation part (rear bumper) is not damaged or deformed, and then install it correctly.
•  If the area around the rear side radar sensor is subjected to impact, the rear side radar sensor angle could change and obstacles may not be detected normally, which could result in an accident. In this case, always verify the DTC, perform the rear side radar sensor aiming, and verify that the installation angle is correct. (See REAR SIDE RADAR SENSOR AIMING.)

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Rear over fender (See REAR OVER FENDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Rear splash shield (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the nuts.

4.  Remove the rear side radar sensor.

5.  Disconnect the connectors.

6.  Remove the bolts.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Rear Side Radar Sensor Installation Note.)

8.  Perform the rear side radar sensor aiming. (See REAR SIDE RADAR SENSOR AIMING.)


Rear Side Radar Sensor Installation Note

1.  Install the rear side radar sensor with the printed surface pointed towards the rear bumper face.
