Shift solenoid C: Stuck off

DETECTION CONDITION
•  Vehicle condition: Shift solenoid C signal is output while the TCM is normal with engine running
•  Status: Detects that shift solenoid C does not change from off
•  Period: Confirmed 1 time
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
•  Inhibits learning control.
•  Inhibits AAS mode.
•  Inhibits the TCC control and slip control.
•  Inhibits the i-stop control.
•  Inhibits the slope control.
•  Inhibits accelerating from 2GR.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Deteriorated ATF
•  ATF level low
•  Shift solenoid C stuck off
•  Control valve body malfunction
•  Automatic transmission malfunction
•  TCM malfunction

RECORD VEHICLE STATUS WHEN DTC WAS DETECTED TO UTILIZE WITH REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION
Note
•  Recording can be facilitated using the screen capture of the PC function.
•  Record the freeze frame data/snapshot data.
Go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
•  Verify related Service Information availability.
•  Is any related Service Information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Information.
•  If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FOR DTC
•  Switch the ignition off, then ON (engine off or on).
•  Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any other DTCs output?
Yes
Follow the applicable DTC inspection procedure, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT ATF CONDITION
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Inspect the ATF condition.
―  Transparent red: Normal
―  Milky: Water mixed in fluid
―  Reddish brown: Deteriorated ATF
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace ATF, then go to Step 8.

INSPECT ATF LEVEL
•  Start the engine.
•  Warm-up the automatic transmission until the ATF temperature is 57.5—62.5 °C {136—144 °F}.
•  Is the ATF level within the specification?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Add ATF to the specified level, then go to Step 8.

INSPECT LINE PRESSURE
•  Start the engine.
•  Measure the line pressure.
•  Are the line pressures within the specifications?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect or replace the part according to the result of the line pressure test, then go to Step 8.

REPLACE CONTROL VALVE BODY AND VERIFY SAME DTC IS NOT PRESENT
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Replace the control valve body.
•  Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the following procedure to ensure that the DTC has been resolved:
1.  Start the engine.
2.  Warm-up the engine and transmission.
3.  Drive the vehicle in D position and make sure that the gears shift smoothly from 1GR to 6GR.
4.  Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.
5.  Switch the ignition off.
6.  Start the engine.
7.  Drive the vehicle in D position and make sure that the gears shift smoothly from 1GR to 6GR.
•  Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the AT, then go Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY SAME DTC IS NOT PRESENT
•  Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the following procedure to ensure that the DTC has been resolved:
1.  Start the engine.
2.  Warm-up the engine and transmission.
3.  Drive the vehicle in D position and make sure that the gears shift smoothly from 1GR to 6GR.
4.  Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.
5.  Switch the ignition off.
6.  Start the engine.
7.  Drive the vehicle in D position and make sure that the gears shift smoothly from 1GR to 6GR.
•  Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the TCM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
9
VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
