CONDENSER INSPECTION

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Discharge the refrigerant from the system. (See REFRIGERANT RECOVERY.) (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING.)

3.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Coolant reserve tank (See COOLANT RESERVE TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
(2)  Air cleaner, air hose and resonance chamber No.1 as a single unit (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
(3)  Battery and battery tray (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
(4)  Front under cover (See FRONT UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  Front tire (See GENERAL PROCEDURES (SUSPENSION).)
(6)  Front mudguard No.1 (See FRONT MUDGUARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(7)  Front splash shield No.2 (See FRONT SPLASH SHIELD No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

5.  Remove the condenser. (See CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  Inspect the condenser for damage, cracks, and oil leakage.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the condenser. (See CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  Inspect the fins for restriction or foreign matter.

•  If any fins are restricted, remove the foreign matter. If there is any malfunction, replace the condenser. (See CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  Inspect the fins for bending.

•  If there is any bending, use the end of a flathead screwdriver to straighten the fins. If there is any malfunction, replace the condenser. (See CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
