DESCRIPTION

Communication error with PCM (vehicle speed signal)

DETECTION CONDITION
Warning
•  Detection conditions are for understanding the DTC outline before performing an inspection. Performing an inspection according to only the detection conditions may cause injury due to an operating error, or damage the system. When performing an inspection, always follow the diagnostic procedure.
•  With the ignition switched ON, the active bonnet control module receives a vehicle speed signal error from the PCM for approx. 5 s or more.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Malfunction in wiring harness between PCM and active bonnet control module
•  PCM malfunction
•  Active bonnet control module malfunction

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR ACTIVE BONNET CONTROL MODULE
•  Clear the DTC for the active bonnet control module using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the active bonnet control module DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is DTC U0001:88 or U0155:00 displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR PCM
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM using the M-MDS.
•  Is the DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR ACTIVE BONNET CONTROL MODULE
•  Clear the DTC for the active bonnet control module using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the active bonnet control module DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Replace the active bonnet control module.
Go to the next step.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
