Active bonnet warning light communication error

DETECTION CONDITION

Warning

•  Detection conditions are for understanding the DTC outline before performing an inspection. Performing an inspection according to only the detection conditions may cause injury due to an operating error, or damage the system. When performing an inspection, always follow the diagnostic procedure.

•  Warning light illumination request output from active bonnet control module and warning light control report input from instrument cluster are incompatible

•  Improper assembly of instrument cluster

•  Instrument cluster malfunction

•  Active bonnet control module malfunction

•  Clear the DTC for the active bonnet control module using the M-MDS.

•  Perform the active bonnet control module DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
(See DTC INSPECTION [ACTIVE BONNET].)

•  Is DTC U0001:88 or U0155:00 displayed?

Yes

Perform the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No

Go to the next step.

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

•  Verify that the instrument cluster is correctly installed.

•  Is the instrument cluster correctly installed?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Install the instrument cluster correctly.

Go to the next step.

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

•  Verify the warning light illumination using the instrument cluster input/output check mode.
(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INPUT/OUTPUT CHECK MODE.)

―  Check code 26

•  Does the active bonnet warning illuminate?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the instrument cluster.

(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR ACTIVE BONNET CONTROL MODULE

•  Clear the DTC for the active bonnet control module using the M-MDS.
(See CLEARING DTC [ACTIVE BONNET].)

•  Perform the active bonnet control module DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
(See DTC INSPECTION [ACTIVE BONNET].)

•  Is the same DTC displayed?

Yes

Replace the active bonnet control module.

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.

3	INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER • Verify the warning light illumination using the instrument cluster input/output check mode. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INPUT/OUTPUT CHECK MODE.) ― Check code 26 • Does the active bonnet warning illuminate?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Replace the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) Go to the next step.
4	PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR ACTIVE BONNET CONTROL MODULE • Clear the DTC for the active bonnet control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [ACTIVE BONNET].) • Perform the active bonnet control module DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [ACTIVE BONNET].) • Is the same DTC displayed?
