TRUNK LID REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Warning
•  Always perform the following procedure with at least one other person to prevent the trunk lid from falling. Otherwise, it may fall and cause injury.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Trunk lid trim (See TRUNK LID TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Trunk lid light (See TRUNK LID LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Trunk lid latch and release actuator (See TRUNK LID LATCH AND RELEASE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the wiring harness clips secured to the trunk lid hinge.

4.  Remove the wiring harness clips secured to the trunk lid.

5.  Remove the bolts, then remove the trunk lid.

6.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Rear seat cushion (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Tire house trim (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  C-pillar trim (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  High-mount brake light (See HIGH-MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(6)  Rear package trim (See REAR PACKAGE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(7)  Balance spring (See BALANCE SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  Affix protective tape to the positions shown in the figure.

8.  Remove the nuts.

9.  Remove the trunk lid hinge.

10.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

11.  Adjust the trunk lid. (See TRUNK LID ADJUSTMENT.)
