GENERATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo]

Warning
•  Remove and install all parts when the engine is cold, otherwise they can cause severe burns or serious injury.
•  When the battery cables are connected, touching the vehicle body with generator terminal B will generate sparks. This can cause personal injury, fire, and damage to the electrical components. Always disconnect the negative battery cable before performing the following operation.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the engine cover.

3.  Remove the drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo].)

4.  Remove the wiring harness and wiring harness bracket.

5.  Remove the drive belt auto tensioner. (See TIMING BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo].)

6.  Remove the dipstick pipe. (See CYLINDER HEAD GASKET REPLACEMENT [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo].)

7.  Disconnect the following connectors and set the wiring harness out of the way.

(1)  IAT sensor connector
(2)  TP sensor connector
(3)  CMP sensor connector
(4)  Oil pressure switch connector
(5)  A/C compressor connector

8.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Generator Installation Note

1.  Match the generator fixing hole and engine side hole, then temporarily tighten the generator installation bolts in the order A, B, C, and D.

2.  Securely tighten the generator installation bolts in the order A, C, B, and D.
