Malfunction Location

•  Hazard warning switch circuit malfunction

Detection Condition

•  Short to ground in wiring harness between hazard warning switch and BCM for 10s or more

Possible Causes

•  DTC inspection is performed with hazard warning switch on
•  Connection malfunction with connector
•  Short to ground in wiring harness between hazard warning switch terminal C and BCM terminal 6Q
•  Hazard warning switch malfunction
•  BCM malfunction

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Turn the hazard warning switch off.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is DTC B1D35:11 displayed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.

VERIFY HAZARD WARNING SWITCH CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the hazard warning switch connector.
•  Inspect the connection condition and wiring harness.
•  Are the connector terminals normal without damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector, then go to the final step.

VERIFY HAZARD WARNING SWITCH CONDITION
•  Remove the hazard warning switch.
•  Inspect hazard warning switch.
•  Is the hazard warning switch normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the hazard warning switch, then go to the final step.

VERIFY BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the BCM connector.
•  Inspect the connection condition and wiring harness.
•  Are the connector terminals normal without damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector, then go to the final step.

VERIFY WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN HAZARD WARNING SWITCH AND BCM FOR SHORT TO GROUND
•  Inspect for a continuity between BCM terminal 6Q and body ground.
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the related wiring harness, then go to the final step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Connect all the connectors.
•  Connect the battery cable.
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Turn the hazard warning switch off.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is DTC B1D35:11 displayed?
Yes
Replace the BCM.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
