Note

•  When removing the high-mount brake light, the procedure can be facilitated by folding down the rear seat.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the rear scuff plate. (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the c-pillar trim. (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the rear seat cushion. (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Remove the rear seat back. (See REAR SEAT BACK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  Remove the tire house trim. (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  Remove the rear package trim. (See REAR PACKAGE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  Remove the connector.

9.  Remove the screws.

10.  While lift up the high-mount brake light in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull out the high-mount brake light in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure.

11.  Remove the high-mount brake light.

12.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the liftgate upper trim. (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the rear spoiler. (See REAR SPOILER REMOVAL.) (See REAR SPOILER INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the screws.

5.  Remove the cover.

6.  Remove the clip.

7.  Disconnect the connector.

8.  Remove the short cord.

9.  Remove the screws.

10.  Remove the high-mount brake light.

11.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
