VACUUM HOSE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)]

1.  Remove the battery and battery tray. (L.H.D.) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)

2.  Remove the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO4 emission level)].) (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO5 emission level)].)

3.  For MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO4 emission level) vehicles, perform the following procedure:

(1)  Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum hose connector.

(2)  Disconnect the vacuum hose connector from the vacuum pump while pressing the tabs of the vacuum hose connector.

4.  For MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO5 emission level) vehicles, perform the following procedure:

(1)  Disconnect the vacuum hose in the order shown in the figure.

5.  Remove the vacuum hose from the vacuum hose clip. (L.H.D.)

6.  Remove the vacuum hose from the vacuum hose clip. (R.H.D.)

7.  Move the vacuum hose as shown in the figure. (L.H.D.)

8.  Disconnect the vacuum hose connector from the power brake unit while pressing the tabs of the vacuum hose connector.

9.  Remove the vacuum hose.

10.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

11.  For MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO4 emission level) vehicles, perform the following procedure:

(1)  Insert the vacuum hose connector to the vacuum pump.

(2)  Verify that the vacuum hose is firmly installed by pulling it, and push it into the vacuum pump again.

12.  For MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO5 emission level) vehicles, perform the following procedure:

(1)  Insert the vacuum hose to the vacuum pump in the order shown in the figure.

(2)  Pull the vacuum hose to verify that it does not come off, and reinsert it completely.

13.  Verify that the vacuum hose is inserted so that the connector contacts the power brake unit flange.
