DTC B1868 [TYPE B]

• Detection conditions are for understanding the DTC outline before performing an inspection. Performing an inspection according to only the detection conditions may cause injury due to an operating error, or damage the system. When performing an inspection, always follow the inspection procedure.

1	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs ARE DISPLAYED • Clear the DTC from the SAS control module memory using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [TYPE B].) • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [TYPE B].) • Is DTC U0073 or U0155 displayed? No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER • Verify that the correct instrument cluster is assembled. • Instrument cluster assembly incorrect?	Yes	Go to the next step.
No	Install the instrument cluster.
3	INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER • Perform the following active command mode inspection for the instrument cluster using the M-MDS. (See ACTIVE COMMAND MODES INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].) ― WL+IL (See ACTIVE COMMAND MODES TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].) • Does the air bag system warning light illuminate?	Yes	Go to the next step.
No	Replace the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4	PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION • Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [TYPE B].) • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [TYPE B].) • Are the same DTCs present?	Yes	Replace the SAS control module. (See SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
No	DTC troubleshooting completed.

• Verify that the correct instrument cluster is assembled.

• Instrument cluster assembly incorrect?

Yes

Go to the next step.

Install the instrument cluster.

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

• Perform the following active command mode inspection for the instrument cluster using the M-MDS. (See ACTIVE COMMAND MODES INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)

• Does the air bag system warning light illuminate?

Yes

Go to the next step.

Replace the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION

• Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [TYPE B].)

• Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [TYPE B].)

• Are the same DTCs present?

Yes

Replace the SAS control module.
