PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[ZJ, ZY, Z6]

Caution

• The PCM is built into the air cleaner cover. Applying excessive pressure to the cover could damage the PCM. Be careful not to put your hands on the PCM during the removal/installation.

• Removing the PCM from the air cleaner could damage the sealing or the circuitry. Do not remove the PCM from the air cleaner.

Except U.K. Specs.

1. When replacing the PCM, perform the following:

• PCM configuration (See PCM CONFIGURATION[ZJ, ZY, Z6].)

2. Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[ZJ, ZY, Z6].)

3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

4. Remove the PCM connector cover.

5. Remove the air cleaner cover.

6. When replacing the PCM on the vehicles, perform the following:

• PCM parameter reset (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM COMPONENT REPLACEMENT/KEY ADDITION AND CLEARING[ADVANCED KEYLESS SYSTEM].) (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM COMPONENT REPLACEMENT/KEY ADDITION AND CLEARING[KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM].)

7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

U.K. Specs.

1. When replacing the PCM, perform the following:

• PCM configuration (See PCM CONFIGURATION[ZJ, ZY, Z6].)

2. Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[ZJ, ZY, Z6].)

3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

5. Remove the PCM connector cover.

6. Remove the air cleaner cover.

7. When replacing the PCM on the vehicle, perform the following:

8. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Set Bolt Removal Note

1. Drill the set bolt using a drill bit with a diameter larger than the shank until the head is removed.

• If the shank remains, remove it using locking pliers.

2. Clean all foreign material from the PCM connectors.

Set Bolt Installation Note

1. Install a new set bolt and tighten it until the neck of the bolt breaks off.
