•  Press the MEDIA button.
•  Does the audio unit display “NO DATA”?
Yes
System is normal (The audio unit will not play even if HDD mode is selected because there is no recorded data on HDD).
No
Go to the next step.

•  Inspect the audio unit display.
•  Does audio the unit display the following?
―  “CHECKING” is displayed for a few minutes.
―  The audio unit turns off automatically.
―  Only the clock is displayed.
Note
•  The audio unit displays “CHECKING” for a while during HDD playback. This is normal operation.
Yes
Replace the audio unit.
No
Go to the next step.

•  Does the audio unit display either “LOW TEMP” or “HIGH TEMP”?
Yes
System is normal. (The temperature inside the HDD is out of specification. Leave the system until the temperature is within the specification. The system will then resume operation.)
No
Go to the next step.

•  Does the audio unit display “DB ERROR”?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to STEP 6.

•  Turn the ignition switch off and then to the ON position.
•  Does the audio system operate properly?
Note
•  There is no audio output while “CHECKING” is displayed on the audio unit.
Yes
System is normal.
No
Replace the audio unit.

•  Does the audio unit display “FORMAT ERROR”?
Yes
Return to STEP 5.
No
Replace the audio unit.
