Purpose/Function

• The wrench warning indicator light turns on and alerts the driver of engine oil deterioration or that the preset maintenance period approaches.

• The wrench warning indicator light turns on and alerts the driver that draining of the sedimentor is required.

Construction

• The wrench warning indicator light is equipped in the instrument cluster.

• For vehicles with center display, a warning message in the center display is displayed when the wrench warning indicator light turn on or flashes. For the message content and verification method, refer to the CENTER DISPLAY. (See CENTER DISPLAY [WITH CENTER DISPLAY].)

• For instrument cluster type B, a warning message in the multi-information display is displayed simultaneously when the wrench warning indicator light turn on or flashes. For the message content, refer to the MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY. (See MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY.)

Operation

• The wrench warning indicator light illumination conditions are as follows:

― Ignition switch ON (turns off after several second)

― PCM determines engine oil replacement period reached. (See ENGINE OIL MAINTENANCE MONITOR [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) (European specs.)

― When the preset maintenance period approaches (See MAINTENANCE MONITOR [WITH CENTER DISPLAY].)

Wrench warning indicator light flash conditions

― Water level in sedimentor is certain level or more

• The PCM sends a wrench warning indicator light illumination or flash request to the instrument cluster via CAN communication.
