BRAKE LIGHT/TAILLIGHT BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].)

2.  Partially peel back the trunk side trim. (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Turn the socket counterclockwise and remove it in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.

Caution

•  If there is oil or dirt on the surface of the light bulb, excessive heat will build up and the life of the light bulb will be shortened. If the light bulb glass area is touched, wipe off any dirt using a soft cloth dampened with detergent diluted in water (approx. 5%).

4.  Remove the brake light/taillight bulb.

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].)

2.  Perform the following procedure:

Brake light/taillight bulb (LH) removal:

1.  Remove the service hole cover (LH).

Brake light/taillight bulb (RH) removal:

1.  Turn the knob counterclockwise and release the lock.

2.  Remove the service hole cover (RH).

3.  Turn the socket counterclockwise and remove it in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.

4.  Remove the brake light/taillight bulb.

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

LED Type

Note

•  The brake light/taillight (LED type) is integrated with the rear combination light.

•  When replacing the brake light/taillight (LED type), replace it together with the rear combination light. (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
