Transaxle component slipping

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The TCM detects that input shaft rotation speed (PID monitor item “TSS”) is 187 rpm or more when the following conditions are met.
―  Selector lever position: D or M range
―  Accelerator pedal position: released
―  Brake pedal position: depressed
―  Vehicle speed: 0 km/h {0 mph}
Diagnostic support note
•  The MIL does not illuminate.
•  The AT warning light illuminates if the TCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
•  PENDING CODE is not available.
•  FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available.
•  The DTC is stored in the TCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Shift solenoid A malfunction
•  Forward clutch not engaged or slipped
•  TCM malfunction

VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
•  Verify related Service Information availability.
•  Is any related repair information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
•  If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Switch the ignition to ON (Engine off).
•  Perform the “Reading DTCs Procedure”.
•  Are the following DTCs output?
―  P0720:00 (VSS circuit malfunction)
―  P0752:00 (Shift solenoid A stuck on)
―  P0753:00 (Shift solenoid A electrical malfunction)
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Replace the forward clutch, then go to the next step.

VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all the disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the following procedure to ensure that the DTC has been resolved:
1.  Start the engine.
2.  Release the accelerator pedal and depress the brake pedal.
3.  Select the selector lever from N position to D range.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the TCM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY NO DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Perform the “Reading DTCs Procedure”.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
