Diagnostic procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	• Inspect the connection of the multi information display connector (24-pin). • Is the multi information display connector connected securely?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Securely connect the multi information display connector.
2	• Disconnect the multi information display connector (24-pin). • Inspect both multi information display connector and wiring harness-side connector terminals 1N, 1Q and 1P for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion). • Are all the pins normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	If the multi information display connector is wrong: • Replace the multi information display. (See MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) If the wiring harness-side connector is wrong: • Repair or replace the pins and/or the connector.
3	• Disconnect the multi information display connector (24-pin). • Measure the resistance following at multi information display harness-side connector (24-pin) while the steering switch (ENTER, Up, Down, Right, Left, NAVI, BACK, INFO) is pressed. ― Terminal 1N—1Q ― Terminal 1P—1Q • Is the resistance within the specified? Specification (Resistance is changing according to switch pressed position.) Terminal 1N—1Q (ENTER, Up, Down, Right, Left): 50 ohms—2.5 kilo-ohms Terminal 1P—1Q (NAVI, BACK, INFO): 50 ohms—250 ohms	Yes	Replace the multi information display. (See MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3		No	Inspect and repair the following: • Replace the steering switch. (See STEERING SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) • Wiring harness between multi information display and steering switch for open or short circuit.
