CONNECTING ROD OIL CLEARANCE INSPECTION/REPAIR [MZR-CD 2.2]

1. Position a plastigage atop the journals in the axial direction.
2. Install the connecting rod bearing and connecting rod cap. (See CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY (II) [MZR-CD 2.2].)
3. Remove the connecting rod bearing and connecting rod cap. (See CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY (I) [MZR-CD 2.2].)
4. Measure the connecting rod oil clearance.

• If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the connecting rod bearing or grind the crank pin and use oversize bearings so that the specified clearance is obtained.
