DRIVE BELT AUTO TENSIONER INSPECTION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5]

1.  Remove the drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)

2.  Verify that the drive belt auto tensioner moves smoothly in the operational direction.

•  Replace the drive belt auto tensioner if necessary. (See ENGINE DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)

3.  Rotate the drive belt auto tensioner pulley by hand and verify that it rotates smoothly.

•  Replace the drive belt auto tensioner if necessary. (See ENGINE DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)

4.  Install the drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)
