TRANSAXLE RANGE (TR) SWITCH INSPECTION [FS5A-EL]

Caution
•  Water or foreign objects entering the connector can cause a poor connection or corrosion. Be sure not to drop water or foreign objects on the connector when disconnecting it.

Operating Inspection

1.  Verify that the engine starts when the selector lever is in the P or N position only.

2.  Verify that the back-up lights illuminate when shifted to R position with the ignition at the ON.

3.  Verify that the positions of the selector lever and the indicator are aligned.

•  If there is any malfunction, adjust the TR switch. (SeeTRANSAXLE RANGE (TR) SWITCH ADJUSTMENT [FS5A-EL].)


On-Vehicle Inspection

1.  Perform the following procedures.

(1)  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
(2)  Remove the air cleaner component. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI].)
(3)  Disconnect the TR switch connector.

2.  Inspect continuity as indicated in the table.
