Diagnostic Procedure

Step

Inspection

Action

1
VERIFY THAT THERE IS COOL AIRFLOW
•  Switch the A/C switch ON.
•  Set the airflow volume control dial to 1 or more.
•  Is there cool airflow from the vent?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the following malfunction symptom item.
2
PERFORM CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT DTC INSPECTION
•  Perform the climate control unit DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.
3
INSPECT AIR INTAKE LINK PART
•  Inspect the air intake actuator, air intake link for the following items.
―  Is grease on link?
―  Are links securely and properly installed?
―  Are links free of obstructions and hindrances?
•  Are the above items normal?
Yes
Inspect the air intake door for the following items.
•  Verify if there is no abnormal noise, cracks, or damage.
•  Are doors securely and properly installed?
If there is foreign matter, remove it or securely install the air intake door to the correct position.
If the air intake door is cracked or damaged, replace the air intake door.
Go to the next step.
No
Apply grease or securely install to the correct positions.
If there is a malfunction in the air intake link, replace the air intake link.
Go to the next step.
4
VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM DOES NOT RECUR AFTER REPAIR
•  Does the malfunction symptom recur?
Yes
Recheck malfunction symptoms, then repeat from Step 1 if the malfunction recurs.
No
Troubleshooting completed.
Explain repairs to customer.
