REAR MOUNT CAMERA IMAGE NOT CLEAR/NO IMAGE ON SCREEN

•  Navigation image is output, however, rear mount camera image is not output
•  Poor reception from rear mount camera
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Effects of non-genuine, after-market electrical components
•  Rear mount camera connector poor connection, pin damage
•  Rear mount camera malfunction
•  Car-navigation unit connector poor connection, pin damage
•  Open or short circuit in vehicle wiring harness (R position signal)
•  Open or short circuit in vehicle wiring harness (rear mount camera power supply)
•  Car-navigation unit malfunction


Diagnostic Procedure

Note
•  The malfunction may be caused by a non-genuine, after-market electrical component. If a non-genuine, after-market electrical component has been installed and it cannot be determined whether the malfunction cause is due to the non-genuine, after-market electrical component or not, more time may be required to perform the malfunction diagnosis. (See FOREWORD [CAR-NAVIGATION SYSTEM (DISPLAY-INTEGRATED TYPE)].)

VERIFY AFTER-MARKET ELECTRICAL COMPONENT INSTALLATION CONDITION
•  Verify if a non-genuine, after-market electrical component is installed.
•  Has a non-genuine, after-market electrical component been installed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 3.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS AFTER-MARKET ELECTRICAL COMPONENT INSTALLATION
•  Disconnect the non-genuine, after-market electrical component connectors.
•  Verify if the malfunction symptom recurs as stated by the customer.
•  Does the malfunction recur?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Explain to the customer that the malfunction occurred due to the after-market electrical component installation.

VERIFY REAR MOUNT CAMERA CONDITION
•  Is the rear mount camera lens soiled by dust or dirt?
Yes
Clean the rear mount camera lens.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS REAR MOUNT CAMERA
•  Are there any scratches or damage on the rear mount camera lens?
Yes
Replace the rear mount camera.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS POOR CONNECTION OF REAR MOUNT CAMERA CONNECTOR
•  Remove the rear mount camera.
•  Inspect the rear mount camera connector for connection condition.
•  Disconnect the rear mount camera and inspect the rear mount camera connector and vehicle wiring harness connector for pin disconnection or deformity.
•  Are the connectors and pins normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
If connector connection is poor:
•  Connect the rear mount camera connector securely.
If the pins and/or connector of the rear mount camera are malfunctioning:
•  Replace the rear mount camera.
If the pins and/or connector of the vehicle wiring harness are malfunctioning:
•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS POOR CONNECTION OF CAR-NAVIGATION UNIT CONNECTOR
•  Remove the car-navigation unit.
•  Inspect the car-navigation unit connection condition.
•  Disconnect the car-navigation unit connector and inspect the car-navigation unit connector and vehicle wiring harness connector for pin disconnection or deformity.
•  Are the connectors and pins normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
If connector connection is poor:
•  Connect the car-navigation unit connector securely.
If the pins and/or connector of the car-navigation unit are malfunctioning:
•  Replace the car-navigation unit.
If the pins and/or connector of the vehicle wiring harness are malfunctioning:
•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS POOR RECEPTION OF R POSITION SIGNAL
•  Verify the R position signal voltage.
•  Remove the car-navigation unit.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Shift to the R position.
Caution
•  When performing the following procedure, keep the brake pedal depressed so that the vehicle does not unexpectedly move and cause an accident.
•  Measure the voltage between car-navigation connector terminal 2A (R position signal) and terminal 1A (ground).
•  Is the battery positive voltage 12V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect the applicable (R position signal) vehicle panel and repair or replace.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS POOR RECEPTION OF POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK).
•  Remove the car-navigation unit.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Shift to the R position.
Caution
•  When performing the following procedure, keep the brake pedal depressed so that the vehicle does not unexpectedly move and cause an accident.
•  Measure the voltage between car-navigation connector terminal 2G (rear mount camera power supply) and terminal 1A (ground).
•  Is the voltage 6V?
Yes
Replace the car-navigation unit.
No
Inspect the applicable (rear mount camera power supply) vehicle panel and repair or replace.
