Car-navigation unit illumination does not turn on
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Car-navigation unit malfunction
•  Power supply fuse (+B, ACC) burnt out
•  Open or short circuit in power supply (+B, ACC, GND, ILL) wiring harness
•  Car-navigation unit connector poor connection, pin damage

DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition to ACC.
•  Can the car-navigation unit power be turned on?
Yes
Replace the car-navigation unit.

(See CAR-NAVIGATION UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY.)
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS FUSE MALFUNCTION
•  Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK).
•  Inspect the following fuses:
―  AUDIO1 15 A
―  CABIN.+B 50A
―  AUDIO2 7.5 A
•  Is the fuse normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the fuse with the specified value.
If a fuse is burnt out, inspect the vehicle wiring harness for a short circuit.
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part, then replace the fuse with the specified value.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CONNECTOR POOR CONNECTION
•  Remove the car-navigation unit.
•  Verify the connection condition of the car-navigation unit connector.
•  Is the car-navigation unit connector connected securely?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Connect the car-navigation unit connector securely.

VERIFY CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the car-navigation unit connector.
•  Inspect the car-navigation unit connector and vehicle wiring harness connector for pin disconnection or deformity.
•  Are the connectors and pins normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
If there is any malfunction on the car-navigation unit side:
•  Replace the car-navigation unit.
If there is any malfunction on the vehicle wiring harness side:
•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
•  Switch the ignition to ACC.
•  Measure the voltage at the following terminals:
Car-navigation unit connector
―  Terminal 1D (+B) (approx. 12 V)
―  Terminal 1B (ACC) (approx. 12 V)
―  Terminal 1A (GND) (approx. 0 V)
―  Terminal 1H (Illumination) (approx. 10 V)
•  Is the voltage normal?
Yes
Replace the car-navigation unit.

No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning vehicle wiring harness.
