•  Communication error between theft-deterrent siren and BCM

Possible Causes

•  Open or short circuit in wiring harness between theft-deterrent siren and BCM
•  Theft-deterrent siren malfunction
•  BCM malfunction

INSPECT THEFT-DETERRENT SIREN CONNECTOR
•  Switch the ignition to off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the theft-deterrent siren connector.
•  Inspect the theft-deterrent siren connector (corrosion, damage, and disconnected pins).
•  Are the connector and terminals normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the theft-deterrent siren connector or terminal.

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR
•  Disconnect the BCM connector.
•  Inspect the BCM connector (corrosion, damage, and disconnected pins).
•  Are the connector and terminals normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the BCM connector or terminal.

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN THEFT-DETERRENT SIREN AND BCM
•  Inspect the wiring harness between theft-deterrent siren connector terminal B and BCM connector terminal 6H for the following:
―  Short to body ground
―  Short to power supply
―  Open circuit
•  Is the wiring harness normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the theft-deterrent siren and the BCM.

INSPECT THEFT-DETERRENT SIREN
•  Reconnect the disconnected connectors.
•  Connect the negative battery cable.
•  Switch the ignition to ON.
•  Inspect the theft-deterrent siren.
•  Is the theft-deterrent siren normal?
Yes
Replace the theft-deterrent siren, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT DTCs
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Verify DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is DTC B10A5:87 displayed again?
Yes
Replace the BCM.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
