DETECTION CONDITION
•  P0731: Does not shift to 1st gear while driving
•  P0732: Does not shift to 2nd gear while driving
•  P0733: Does not shift to 3rd gear while driving
•  P0734: Does not shift to 4th gear while driving
•  P0751, P1751: Malfunction in shift solenoid A mechanical or oil pressure systems.
•  P0756, P1756: Malfunction in shift solenoid B mechanical or oil pressure systems.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Shift solenoid valve A malfunction
•  Shift solenoid valve B malfunction
•  Transaxle internal malfunction
•  PCM malfunction

1
VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
•  Verify related Service Information availability.
•  Is any related Service Information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Information.
•  If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
2
VERIFY DTCS
•  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position, then to the ON position.
•  Verify the DTCs in the PCM memory.
•  Are except DTCs P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734, P0751, P0756, P1751 and P1756 output?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.

SHIFT SOLENOID OPERATION INSPECTION
•  Drive in D range.
•  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2 and select the following PIDS.
―  SSA/SS1
―  SSB/SS2
•  Using the M-MDS, verify the operation status of shift solenoid A and shift solenoid B while driving.
―  1GR: SSA/SS1 on, SSB/SS2 on
―  2GR: SSA/SS1 off, SSB/SS2 on
―  3GR: SSA/SS1 off, SSB/SS2 off
―  4GR: SSA/SS1 on, SSB/SS2 off
•  Is the shift solenoid operation normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the solenoid body assembly, then go to Step 8.

INSPECT ROAD TEST
•  Road-test the vehicle to verify the respective shift points.
•  Are the shift points normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect the symptom troubleshooting, then go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734, P0751, P0756, P1751 OR P1756 COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all the disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Start the engine.
•  Perform the “After Repair Procedure”.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY DTCS
•  Are except DTCs P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734, P0751, P0756, P1751 and P1756 output?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
