TP sensor out of self-test range

DETECTION CONDITION

• The TP sensor circuit is monitored by the PCM for an out of range TP rotation angle (or voltage) input. If during KOEO or KOER the TP rotation angle (or voltage) reading is less than 13.27% (0.66 V) or greater than 23.52% (1.17 V), the test fails.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Accelerator pedal or cable malfunction
• TP sensor malfunction
• PCM malfunction

VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED
• Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes
Go to next step.
No
Record FREEZE FRAME DATA on repair order, then go to next step.

VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Check for related Service Information availability.
• Is any related Service Information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to available Service Information.
• If vehicle is not repaired, go to next step.
No
Go to next step.

VERIFY RELATED PENDING CODE OR STORED DTC
• Verify the related PENDING CODE or stored DTCs.
• Are other DTCs present?
Yes
Go to appropriate DTC inspection.
No
Go to next step.

INSPECT ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND CABLE LINKAGE
• Verify that the accelerator pedal and cable are installed correctly.
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Reinstalled or replace as necessary, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to next step.

INSPECT TP SENSOR
• Inspect the TP sensor.
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Replace TP sensor, then go to next step.
No
Go to next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P1124 COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear DTC from memory using WDS or equivalent.
• Start engine.
• Perform "KOEO/KOER self-test"
• Is same DTC present?
Yes
Replace PCM, then go to next step.
No
Go to next step.
7
VERIFY AFTER SERVICE PROCEDURE
• Perform "AFTER SERVICE PROCEDURE".
• Is there any DTC present?
Yes
Go to applicable DTC inspection.
No
Troubleshooting completed.
