Warning
• Remove and install all parts when the engine is cold, otherwise they can cause severe burns or serious injury.

1. Remove the splash shield (RH).

2. Remove the drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT [AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)

3. Remove the A/C compressor with the pipes still connected and position it out of the way. (See A/C COMPRESSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)

4. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.

5. Remove the oil pressure switch.

6. Connect the SST to the oil pressure switch installation hole.

7. Install the A/C compressor. (See A/C COMPRESSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)

8. Install the drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT [AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)

9. Start the engine and warm it up.

10. Run the engine at the specified speed, and note the gauge readings.

• If it is less than the specification, there might be an oil pump malfunction, oil strainer clogging, oil shortage, or excess of each oil clearance. Repair or replace if necessary.
Note
• The oil pressure can vary with oil viscosity and temperature.
