PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AJ (3.0L Duratec)]

Caution

•  Before PCM removal, the PCM configuration information must be uploaded to the diagnostic tool. This information needs to be downloaded into the new PCM once installed.

1.  Remove the battery cover.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3.  Loosen the PCM connector bolt and remove the PCM connector.

4.  Remove the PCM cover nuts and the PCM cover.

5.  Remove the PCM.

6.  When replacing the PCM, perform the following:

•  PCM configuration (See PCM CONFIGURATION [AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)

•  Immobilizer system-related part programming (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (PATS) KEY ADDITION/CLEARING [YF (2.0L Zetec), AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
