• Installation of a new accumulator tank is not necessary when repairing the air conditioning system except when there is physical evidence of system contamination from a failed A/C component or damage to the accumulator tank.

• If an evaporator leak is suspected, the evaporator must be leak tested before it is removed from the vehicle. (See EVAPORATOR/CONDENSER INSPECTION.)
1. Remove the cooling unit. (See COOLING UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
2. Remove the foam seal from the A/C air inlet and outlet.

• If the foam seal is damaged during removal install a new seal.
3. Remove the foam seal from the evaporator inlet and outlet.

• If the foam seal is damaged during removal install a new seal.
4. Remove five screws and the upper case.
5. Remove the evaporator.
6. Remove the evaporator brackets.
7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
