Programmed Repairs (Symptom Based Repairs)

Complaint:
External oil leaks

Cause/Remedy:
For external oil leaks, where the cause cannot be perfectly established, proceed as follows:

Make test range free of oil, dry and spray with "MB contrast spray white", part No. 000 989 03 59.

Run engine. Oil leaks are showing up after 2-5 minutes.

Seal respective area.

NOTE: "MB contrast spray white" replaces the spray can from previous scope 000 989 01 59.


Complaint:
Front crankcase cover leaking

Cause/Remedy:
Previous sealing compound hardening and therefore leaking. Coat crankcase cover at parting points, including fastening screws, with sealing compound 001 589 29 20.


Complaint:
Radial sealing ring of crankshaft leaking at front

Cause/Remedy:
Insert modified radial sealing ring, part No. 011 997 22 47.

Prior to installation, coat sealing lip with engine oil only, do not use grease. Service and Repair
