Evaporator Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

Data:
Cutout temperature: 0 ±1 °C

Note: Changing adjustment of ETR-switch in direction of "colder" is not permitted. In the event of trouble or if the cutout point is not correctly set, always replace switch.

Removal:
1. Remove lefthand cover under instrument panel.






2. Unscrew screw (refer to arrow) on lefthand lining of center console.






3. Pull electric flat plug and unscrew screws at right and left from ETR-switch (29).
4. Carefully pull ETR-switch (29) toward the rear and then pull capillary of ETR-switch out of guide tube in air conditioner housing, making sure that a counter-hold is applied to guide tube.

Installation:
5. Slip capillary of ETR-switch up to red mark into guide tube in air conditioner housing.






6. Screw ETR-switch (29) to air conditioner housing by means of 2 screws.
7. Mount electric flap plug.






8. Attach lefthand lining of center console by means of screw (refer to arrow).
9. Install lefthand cover under instrument panel.
10. Check automatic climate control for function.
