Receiver Dryer: Service and Repair

Note: In the event of operational trouble in air-conditioning system as a result of leaks, contamination or icing up, as well as on air-conditioning systems which are left for long periods without refrigerant, install a new fluid reservoir as a general requirement.






Removal:
1. Disconnect plug connection (20) from the temperature switch (3). Pull electric plug from pressure switch (25). Then screw out both switches.






2. Unscrew hose and pipe (19 and 23) from the receiver dehydrator.
3. Remove two bolts (9) and remove receiver dehydrator.
4. Use plugs to seal off hose and pipe connections.






Installation:
5. Screw temperature switch (30) and pressure switch (25) into the receiver dehydrator (2).
6. Before installing the new receiver dehydrator inject 10 cm3 new compressor oil into the side connection. Then tighten down receiver dehydrator with bolts (9) and remove the seal caps from the connections.






7. Screw on hose and pipe connections (19 and 23). First coat threads and 0-ring with refrigeration oil, then use open end wrench to apply counter-pressure when tightening.
8. Reconnect plug (20). Install electric plug at pressure switch (25).
9. Purge and then recharge air conditioning system.
10. Check operation of air conditioner. Check system for leaks.
