Oil Charge

If the compressor is to be replaced, drain oil from old compressor and measure amount of oil recovered, then drain oil from replacement compressor and proceed as follows: If less than 1.3 ounces from old compressor, add 3 ounces to replacement compressor. If more than 1.3 ounces from old compressor, add drained amount to replacement compressor. If oil drained from old compressor is contaminated, flush system and add 6 ounces of oil to replacement compressor. Whenever compressor is replaced, the receiver-dryer should also be replaced, but do not add oil to receiver-dryer.
For other services to refrigeration system, add the following amounts of oil: recharge system with more than 7.5 ounces of refrigerant or complete recharge add 1.1 ounces; replaced condenser, 1.7 ounces; replaced evaporator, 2.3 ounces or replaced receiver-dryer, 1.3 ounces.
