Remove/Install Soft Top Control Module








Removal

Ignition
switch off
Negative pole on battery (observe note)
disconnect and cover
Right occasional (rear) seat
remove. [1][2]Procedures
Connectors on control module
disconnect
3 nuts on control module
unscrew
Control module
remove


NOTE: It is necessary to disconnect the battery because the soft top control module is active for approx. 60 minutes after the ignition has been switched off.


Reinstall in opposite order.
Check function Testing and Inspection






Testing as of 06/95

After installing the new control module test the system with the hand-held tester (HHT).
Connect the HHT to the 38-pin data link connector (X11/4) with a multiplexer.
Check roll-over bar for proper function; the roll-over bar should actuate, Testing and Inspection
