Ignition Lock: Service Precautions
When the steering lock is installed on the steering column with the lock cylinder removed, DO NOT turn the mechanism. Doing so will allow a built-in lockout (anti-theft protection) to engage.The steering lock cannot be unlocked when installed to the column, the steering lock will be damaged beyond repair if this is attempted.
