Removal
1. Remove front cover (23) at the cylinder head, refer to Upper Cover. Service and Repair
2. Position piston of cylinder 1 to 20° after ignition Top Dead Center (TDC) (arrow)
- Rotate engine at front of crankshaft in normal direction of rotation
3. Lock inlet camshaft (75), exhaust camshaft (78) in place with positioning pins (01) (arrows)
4. Remove chain tensioner (14). Service and Repair
- If the complete chain tensioner (14) is slackened, it must be removed, disassembled and re-assembled, as described.
5. Unbolt guide rail (70), take off

Installation
Install in the reverse order, tighten bolts at top of guide rail to: 10 Nm
