Compressor HVAC: Application and ID

Component Identification:

The 7-stage 7SB16C A/C compressor installed is completely new;
- Function and efficiency correspond to the previous model 6CA17
- it is lighter and shorter
- the intake and pressure lines are connected separately
- single-pin electrical connector
- the pistons are driven directly by the swash plate (without connecting rods)


Belt protection:
A melting fuse is located in the A/C compressor clutch solenoid which switches off the slipping poly-v-belt when the A/C compressor starts to lock up due the heat development. The previous slip recognition via the speed sensor in the A/C compressor is eliminated; therefore the electrical connector has only 1 pin.


NOTE: The A/C compressor should be replaced completely when the melting fuse is defective due possible damage to the A/C compressor.
