Removing and Installing Fuel Level Gauge Sensor







Removing, installing


DANGER: Risk of explosion from ignition, risk of poisoning from inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury from skin and eye contact with fuel.

- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking. Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.



1 If fuel tank is full, pump out about 8 liters of fuel
2 Remove trim panel in trunk
3 Remove rear panel of fuel tank
4 Unplug socket (arrow) for fuel gage sensor (B4) and pressure sensor (only (USA))


NOTE: Fuel gage sensor (B4) and pressure sensor form a single unit.


5 Open bayonet lock of fuel level gage sensor (B4)
Refer to Special Tool below

6 Take out fuel gage sensor (B4)


CAUTION: Installation: Replace gasket (89/2). Oil to facilitate installation.


7 Install in the reverse order
