Remove/Install Slide Rail In Timing Case Cover

Shown On Engine 112:

DANGER:
- Risk of death, Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform.
- Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

1 Remove engine compartment paneling
2 Remove underride guard
- Model 463

3 Remove air baffle
- Model 163 with Engine 113.942

4 Drain and collect engine oil

NOTE: Installation: Replace sealing ring of oil drain plug.

5 Remove cylinder heads
6 Remove bottom part of oil pan
7 Remove timing case cover
8 Remove slide rails (1)

NOTE: At the same time detach slide rails (1) toward front from the retaining bolts.

9 Install in the reverse order.
