Design
The EIS consists of the electromechanical ignition/starter switch, a control module and an infrared transmitter/receiver.

Function
Data interchange for drive authorization with the remote control key is accomplished via the infrared transmitter/receiver. The remote control key is supplied with power inductively by the EIS.
