The display in the instrument cluster warns the driver that the oil level is too low.

Oil level switch at oil pan shifts to ground. Contact opens if oil level is too low.

Note: When inserting CAN capable instrument cluster, the information is transmitted via CAN from ME control module to the instrument cluster.
