Humidity Sensor: Service and Repair



AR83.40-P-6740P Remove/Install Air Humidity Sensor
- with CODE (580a) Automatic air conditioning

DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury from caustic burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and eye protection. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
- Injury Hazard! Windshield wiper mechanism can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities.
- Always remove ignition key when working on windshield wiper mechanism.


1 Open engine hood
2 Open snap locks (1)
3 Loosen bolt (7a)
4 Turn bracket (7) slightly

CAUTION: Installation: ensure that the bracket (7) is correctly seated at the dust filter housing (2).

5 Remove dust filter housing (2)
6 Remove air humidity sensor (B31/2)

NOTE: Rotate air humidity sensor (B31/2) 90 degrees in direction of arrow and remove.

7 Disconnect connector from air humidity Sensor (B31/2)

CAUTION: Do not allow electrical lead to slip into the evaporator housing.

8 Install in the reverse order.
