Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair




Remove/Install Sensor










Remove/Install

1 Remove engine compartment paneling
2 Press left O2 sensor connectors, upstream TWC (G3/3x1) and right OO22 sensor connectors, upstream TWC (G3/4x1) out of brackets and disconnect
3 Remove left O2 sensor, upstream TWC (G3/3) and right O2 sensor, upstream TWC (G3/4)

NOTE: Installation: Coat thread of O2 sensors with heat-resistant lubricant.

- Box wrench bit: See Special Tools below.
- Sensor to exhaust pipe/exhaust = 55 Nm

4 Press left O2 sensor connectors, downstream TWC (G3/5x1) and right O2 sensor connector, downstream TWC (G3/6x1) out of brackets and disconnect
5 Remove left O2 sensors, downstream TWC (G3/5) and right O2 sensor, downstream TWC (G3/6)

NOTE: Installation: Coat thread of O2 sensors with heat-resistant lubricant.

- Box wrench bit: See Special Tools below.
- Sensor to exhaust pipe/exhaust = 55 Nm

6 Install in the reverse order sensor manifold
